Chapter 14

A crash was heard from the other room. I woke up, surprised. What was that sound. I got up quickly and went to the bathroom. Washed my face and brushed my teeth. I got out of the room quickly to where the sound was. I saw Adam on the floor clutching his chest, with Joe trying to make him eat a pill. I was standing there shocked. Joe looked at me and glared.

Joe: Go to your room and don't get out!!

He screamed at me.

Me: ....

I couldn't understand what he said. It was as if my mind froze. I was standing there just staring at him. Then at that moment, something in my mind snapped. My head started hurting. I clutched it with one of my hands while the other one was holding me up using the wall.

Me: Ugggghhhhh !!

Joe looked at me. A minute ago nothing was wrong with me. He didn't know what to do. Either leave Adam and come to my care. Or leave me and help Adam.  By now, I was laying on the floor and clutching my head and screaming. Gradually, my screams got louder and louder. Adam opened his eyes a little and turned his head. He was bothered by my screams.

Adam: ..J.. oe..

Joe: Adam! Are you alright?

Adam: Chest.. hur ..ts .. can.. 't .. bre..ath

Joe didn't know what do do. Either leave me and help Adam. Or come to my aid. He was looking forth and back between me and Adam. In the end he picked Adam up and took him quickly to the room. He ran out of the room to the kitchen. And back to the room with a pill and a cup of water. He gave it to Adam and he felt a little relieved. After that, Joe came running to me. By the time he was there. I have stopped screaming. I was laying sideways. With 2 streaks of tears from my eyes to the ground. My breaths were deep and slow. My face pale and blank. Joe looked at me with pity. He picked me up slowly and started going to my room. He lied me on the bed. And took a strand of hair out of my face and tucked it behind my ear. His eyes had so much sadness in them. He got up and went to the door. He turned back to me and said in a warm ans caring voice.

Joe: If you need anything just call me. I'll leave the door open.

I didn't react to what he said. It was as if I couldn't hear him. As if I was in another world. A world that was so far, far away. I don't know how much I stayed that way. Until I drifted into a deep long slumber.

My eyes fluttered open feeling a hand smoothly stroking my cheek. My eyesight was blurry, but I recognized the golden eyes that were looking at me.

Adam: .. are you okay?

He said. A tiny hint of concern was evidence in his voice. I couldn't answer. My throat feels dry and weird. So I replied with a nod. Adam smiled a smile of relief.

Adam: Great. Get up and I'll let Joe cook you some breakfast.

Me: .....

I opened my mouth trying to speak. But I couldn't. Adam looked at me weirdly.

Adam: Could it be.. you can't talk?

I nodded viciously.

Adam: Ok listen, first get up and get washed and stuff then come and eat some breakfast. I'll call a doctor for you.

I nodded and Adam got out of the room. I held my necklace, the one Sha4a gave me. I felt a little safer . I got up and went to the bathroom and took a shower, brushed my teeth and blow dried my hair. I wore some clothes and went downstairs. Joe was getting the table ready. He looked up at me and smiled.

Joe: Good morning

I opened my mouth to answer, but couldn't. So I settled with a nod and smile on his direction. I sat on the table and looked at the table to see what I wanted.

Joe: What do you want to eat?

I pointed at the box of corn flakes. He passed it to me with the milk. I poured some cereal in my bowl, then poured the milk. I took my spoon and started eating. Joe and Adam started eating as well. It was weird thinking this, but we look like a family. I actually thought it wouldn't be bad to live like this.

Shmoo5: 3zeez ! 5la9 ana ma agdr at7ml abii bntiii !!!

She said as she cried at my shoulder. I hugged her tight and stroked her hair.

Me: 7beebtii ha4anii jals a7awl enshalla bjeebha b-agrb wgt.

Shmoo5: Abeeha tjenii al-7een !! Ma 3ad agdr 5la9 !! 3zeez ha4ii bntii !! 7shaasht jofii ! g63a mnii !

I got a little irritated. It was as if she was saying that I don't care that much.

Me: Shmoo5 ! Tra zy ma Latifa bntk trahii bntii ! O ana abeeha tji al-yom gbl bukra !

I said that and let go of her. I went to the bathroom and took a long cold shower.

Shmoo5's POV:

I just said something I shouldn't. I hurt 3zeez's feelings. I lowered my head on the pillow and started cying all over again. Latifa, my daughter, when will you come back?

Sha4a's POV:

I miss Latifa. It's been 4 days already and I didn't hear a word from her. Right now I'm on my way to her house. I need to talk with Uncle 3bdal3zeez or Aunt Shmoo5. The driver was going ahead when a car on my right was speeding really fast. It hit our car really strong.

Sha4a and her driver (Noor): AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!

Latifa's POV:

I was sitting on the sofa alone watching TV. When suddenly my necklace broke and fell to the ground. My heart skipped a beat. Even though I don't believe in those stuff that when someone gives you something and it breaks that means they're in danger. But at that moment I thought maybe did. I ran to Adam. He looked up and I started doing signs with my hand trying to make him understand. He came up to me and held my shoulders.

Adam: Does anything hurt you?

I mouthed a "No".

Adam: Wait wait

He went to his desk and took out a notebook and a pencil. He came back and gave them to me. 

Adam: Write what you want to say.

I started scribbling really quickly. Adam started reading.

Adam: Please, check on my family and friends. I feel like something happened. 
 
He looked up at me. Feeling a bit relieved that nothing was wrong with me. 

Adam: I'll make my calls. Don't worry and rest, ok?

I nodded slowly. Adam went and sat on his desk. He took out his phone and started calling. I waited until he finished his call. He looked at me and smiled. 

Adam: Don't worry. In an hour someone will call and inform me. 

I nodded and mouthed a thank you. I got out of the Adam's room to the living room. 

Sha4a's POV: 

I woke up in a hospital bed. My head hurts so much. I looked at my right and mo myther was reading Quran in a low voice. 

Me: ..Mama

I said in a low whisper. My mother looked up quickly and put her hand on mine.

Me: No, bs rjlii shwii. Esh 9ar?

Njoud: 9arlkm 7adth. O enti enksrt rjlk

Me: O Komar?

Njoud: Bs shwyt 5doosh o rjlh mltwh.

Me: Uha. Zeen ma 9arlh shi. 

Njoud: Shloon 9ar el-7adth?

Me: Kna bng63 shar3 o wa7d jay mrra msr3 o ma entbh lna. 

Njoud: El-7mdlilah en enti o Komar knto bil-jha el-b3eeda. 

Me: Eeh wallah. Wen jawalii?

Njoud: Ha4a hoo. 

My mom gave me the phone and I opened 3omar's chat.

Me: Sorry bs walla ensh'3lt!

3omar: B-wsho? La ykoon 9ayr shii?

I didn't reply right away. I thought about whether to tell him about the accident or not.

Sha4a: Bs 9ar 7adth bsee6. O ma fenii shii bs rjlii enksrt!

3omar: Na3m???!!!! Y3wrk shii?! Amana Sha4a e4a fe shii golelii! Entii b_ay mustshfa?

Sha4a: Walla bs rjlii enksrt ! glt lk el-7adth kan basee6 ! Sa3ad Hospital 

3omar: Ana jayk al-7een :) ! 

Sha4a: La la la tjii =| !! Mama hina !

3omar didn't reply. OMG is he really coming? =|. I was panicking.
